i've received many questions about this, decided to answer it on a text.
i’ve always been touched by Tablo’s lyrical ability. yeah, some of his songs are emotional, and even sometimes painful…but also somehow therapeutic. there is an honesty that i can find in his songs that i really can’t find elsewhere—it exposes the hidden harshness in life. and Epik High screams it all out. yes, there is loneliness, bitterness, hatefulness—heck, all the pessimism of the world that people tend to avoid. but the light of the music and the tender nature that Epik High (and for me especially, Tablo), sings in provides hope.
in the end, those two messages become one:
reality is unsatisfying and bitter, but there is an oasis that can be found if it is recognized and appreciated.
